The plaza in front of the north exit of JR Otsuka Station has been redeveloped under the theme of "Light Fantasy" with the nickname ironowa hiro ba (a space for color harmony). The sculptural ring and other monuments in the plaza are illuminated with LED lighting to create a landmark space of nighttime changing colors, and the development of the plaza allowed for new pedestrian oriented spaces to lead to the station's entrance.

 

Working with the monument designer, TLA designed the surrounding facilities and features of the plaza, including seating, paving, landscape, and the public restroom.
