OAKS SQUARE AT TOKYO RACECOURSE, Fuchu, Tokyo

Planned and designed as the “front porch” of Tokyo’s horseracing venue, Oaks Square serves as a main approach, gathering space, and principal visual feature for the racecourse. The space incorporates references to the traditions and formalities of the sport, bringing a rose garden and display paddock into the entrance experience and integrating the operational facilities into the surrounding park landscape. It pays particular attention to details in response to the client’s objective to create a facility that would be uniquely attractive to female visitors.
